Origin Laser

The Origin Laser is an advanced, non-invasive treatment designed to rejuvenate the skin and improve its texture without the extended recovery time associated with traditional laser procedures. Unlike earlier abrasive laser techniques, the Origin Laser utilizes a gentler approach, making it more suitable for daily life with minimal downtime.

How Does the Origin Laser Work?

The Origin Laser employs an Erbium Glass laser with a 1550 nm wavelength, allowing it to penetrate the dermis (the deeper layer of skin) without damaging the outer epidermis. This deep action is crucial for skin resurfacing and anti-aging effects.

A key feature of the Origin Laser is its “micro-fractionated” technology, which creates microscopic treatment zones approximately 70 micrometers in diameter, leaving surrounding healthy skin intact. These treated areas are gently heated to form tiny wells, stimulating collagen and elastin production in the dermis. This process, known as “micro-fractional photothermolysis,” leads to skin remodeling, enhancing elasticity, firmness, and smoothness. Since the treated zones are invisible to the naked eye, the skin maintains a uniform appearance.

Notably, only about 20% of dermal cells are affected during treatment, resulting in rapid healing and minimal disruption to daily activities.

Indications for Origin Laser Treatment:

  • Facial, neck, and décolleté rejuvenation
  • Skin laxity
  • Reduction of perioral and periorbital wrinkles
  • Improvement of skin texture issues, such as enlarged pores and uneven tone
  • Stretch mark reduction
  • Diminishing various types of scars, including those from acne, burns, or surgery
  • Addressing pigmentation disorders like sunspots and melasma

Treatment areas can include the face, neck, décolleté, and hands.

Before the Session:

  • Skin Preparation: One month prior to the first session, it’s advisable to minimize melanin production by avoiding sun and UV exposure, as well as refraining from using self-tanning products. This precaution reduces the risk of post-treatment pigmentation issues, especially for individuals with darker or Asian skin tones.
  • On the Day of Treatment: Do not apply makeup.
  • Anesthesia: A local anesthetic cream may be applied to enhance comfort during the procedure.

During the Session:

  • Duration: Each session typically lasts between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the treatment area.
  • Sensations: Patients may experience a warm, tingling sensation during the procedure, which is generally well-tolerated.

After the Session:

  • Immediate Effects: Mild redness and slight swelling may occur, resembling a sunburn. These effects usually subside within a few hours to a couple of days.
  • Post-Treatment Care: It’s essential to keep the skin moisturized and protected from sun exposure. Applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen with high SPF is recommended.
  • Recovery Time: Given the minimally invasive nature of the treatment, most individuals can resume their regular activities immediately, with minimal to no downtime.

Dr. Chady Kallassy offers the Origin Laser treatment, providing a modern solution for those seeking skin rejuvenation with minimal disruption to their daily lives.
